Introduction to the blog

If you are reading this short article, it means that you have stumbled across our wonderful blog… you’re in luck! This particular article is written solely as an introduction to the rest of the articles and serves no other proper purpose. The intention here is simply to answer a few questions, including: who, what, where, when and why?

If you have no interest in seeking the answers to these burning questions or are bored half to death by my writing, by all means, please skip ahead to the other articles – after all, that’s where all the real GOLD is at!

For the more curious of you, lets begin…

Who – Who writes the blog?

The special thing about this blog, compared to many others, is that it includes contributions from mentalists across the globe (I am hoping non of you are flat earthers or I’m about to get a whole host of angry emails… yikes!)  and isn’t restricted to one writer. This means a couple of things:

Firstly, by reading along, you will gain valuable insight into the thoughts and opinions of many different writers, from many different perspectives, which is an extremely important factor in being open-minded within this artform.

❝Every now and then a man's mind is stretched by a new idea or sensation, and never shrinks back to its former dimensions❞
Oliver Wendell Holmes Sr.
Author of 'Autocrat of the Breakfast Table'

Secondly, different writers means different writing styles. Is the writing style of the article that you are reading too serious? Too long winded? Not detailed enough? Don’t panic! Chances are the next article’s writing style may be completely different and could satisfy your reading a little more.

What – What is the blog about?

To put it simply, the themes of the articles within this blog will vary massively. They are not limited to a certain topic and will contain anything and everything related to Mentalism whether it be, how-to’s on specific topics or anecdotes to provide helpful insight into real life occurrences.

The nature of the articles all depend on what the specific writer feels most passionate about, which ensures you, the reader, gain the most value from the article as it’s something the writer actually wants to write about! It’s not like we have a big cage at Mentalistry HQ where we lock all the writers up and force them to write… that’s plan B obviously *cough cough*

This is a joke by the way, please don't sue me...

Where – Where is the blog published to?

The blog is owned by and will be published here exclusively. The majority of the articles here have been custom written with the purpose of being published on this very blog and so a lot of the content you may read here will not be available anywhere else.

When – When are articles published?

We aim to publish a new article every two weeks, this allows us adequate time to have new content written properly and all edited to ensure the best possible reading experience.

If you have a bad memory or just simply can’t be bothered checking the site everyday to see if anything new has been posted, you can choose to opt-in to our ‘Blog mailing list’ in which you will be notified by email every time a new article is posted. You can opt-in using the email opt-in form directly below this article or click here.

Why – Why was this blog created?

I (Tom, the founder of Mentalistry) created this blog with the intention of giving back to the community by providing valuable content and interesting discussion points, at the same time as giving those who love mentalism as much as I do, a platform to voice their opinions and thoughts on what is a very subjective art. Hopefully, by doing so, we can propel the mystert arts together.

A blog written by the community, for the community!

I’d personally like to thank you on behalf of myself, the writers and the rest of the Mentalistry Team for your continued support, we do hope you enjoy this wonderful resource in which we have poured a lot of blood, sweat and tears into. It means the world to me that you, probably reading from hundreds if not thousands of miles away, have taken the time out of your day to do so. For that I am forever grateful.

Until next time,
