The Jafi Read by Adrien Lochon

The Jafi Read is an excellent manuscript on the true heart of magic and mentalism. While the main topic of the book deals with several different star sign divinations, amongst my favorites are, jafi, memoir and unspoken. While all the star sign divinations are very practical and in the right circumstance are killer stand alone revelations. My favorite part of the manuscript and what I have gained the most insight from is the theory jammed packed within this ebook. Adrien's musings in this manuscript are amazing. The concept of structuring a reading within the process of a star sign divination, makes tons of logical sense. On top of that, the reason this ebook is so impactful to me, is the importance of creating connections. Connectivity is something I will rely on when creating magic and mentalism going forward. Connection is the single most important trick in our arsenal, if you ask me. Many people can do tricks but to elicit an emotional reaction is so much stronger. The more you can connect and reach people on a personal level the better you will be as a performer and as a human being. Sometimes being humble and listening is the very thing that people need. Thanks Adrien for reminding me (at the very least) the importance of the personal connection.

Forget the propless buzzword. This is a good routine. This is an engaging piece of Mentalism that is easier to remember than a P.A. (which is hard for me to say, as I love my P.A.!)

The PDF goes through how to give a reading, how to reveal someone's star sign, and really just how to turn a conversation into a piece of magic.

This routine can be adjusted to fit you as well. You can break the two parts up somewhat in your routine, causing the first piece to be a very small "getting to know you" effect and by the time you do the second part later in your routine, no one will know you've learned their star sign in the process.

This is not just a great routine, but it's the best star sign divination out there. Even with the newest ones coming out, I will still go back to The Jafi Read.

I've performed this in close-up settings as well as the first part of my unwritten Q&A act on stage and stand-up environments. (It's perfect as the first phase, as you can end with a hit and show your "mind reading process" to the audience, before moving into your standard QA performance.)

If you are into star signs, this is a must. There is now way around this - because this is different that all the other zodiac divination that I bought (and I bought a whole lot of them). Usually, you read their mind - here, you read THEM. It is not mind reading reading. It is just a reading with a zodiac divinations, which feels so much more right to me. Also, it's pretty inexpensive for what you get in return.

Adrien is a great thinker, and this release is a good example of that. The concepts in this ebook are practical and very natural which is what your performance should look like. For me this effect is best performed in a middle of a set where you are revealing other bits of information about your spectators, an icing on the cake as they say because it just adds that credibility to you as a performer. Overall this is a great star sign divination, and if you give it some thought you can actually apply this concept with other things too not just star signs. Good stuff!
